Camera Project 1

Yesterday I started a new project on photography and I'm using The Camera Book by John Davis to guide me through the project I did the first page of seventy yesterday but it's not hard, (whats hard is keeping people viewing my two blogs), the first page was called still life and I needed to take a picture of  something that doesn't move and I chose this.

As there are seventy projects in the book, one on each page, expect sixty nine more posts

Puppy party

Last night our fourteen week old puppy called Finn went to a puppy party at the vets, when we got there a puppy was waiting outside with its owner. The puppy was a Jack Russell called Charlie, a Jack Russell that was yapping it's head of for half an hour or more and all the noise upset Finn. About ten minutes after we got there another puppy came with her owners that puppy was a Golden Retriever called Lily, she was nice and quiet.

When we went in (with Charlie still yapping) to the vets there were a pile of toys on the floor, this was to show what toys puppy's should play with. There was a nurse and a vet there the nurse past round a sheet with pictures of the way a puppy could do to interact with you.  The puppy's played with each other for a bit and after that we played pass the puppy. This was to get the puppy's used
to other people. next it was time to look around the vets.

First we went to the kennels and saw Alfie who is one of the vets dog, from the kennels we went to the x-ray room Finn didn't like it much, then we went to the operating theatre there was a small toy dog on one of the tables and I learnt wear they check the  pulse of a dog, then we went to room 1 and there were worms and ticks in tubes on the table I guest that the ticks were female and the vet was surprised that I was right (I have read about ticks though). Finn hated it in there too. When we went back into the main room there were six goodie bags two for each dog oh good news too Freya's five and Finn was on the lead for the first time

The New And The Old

Today me and my Nan went for a very early morning walk round the lake, by early I mean we got out at 7:15. We went on the walk because I like walking, I like nature and I like animals

On our walk we came across a greylag goose gosling and two greylag geese. It was the first greylag gosling that we've seen on the lake here are some facts about them. They eat things such as grass, roots, cereal leaves and spilled grain, they have a wing span of 147-180 cm  oh and they are the largest of the wild geese native to the UK. They are quite rare on our lake because it is mostly Canadian geese but we have got two grebes and several swans

We were about half way through the walk when I saw two cygnets and a female swan I think that they were mute swans too. did you know that they have a wingspan of 208-238 and they eat: water plants, insects and snails.

we also saw a grey heron which we haven't seen for ages
it was in mating season I think and heirs some of the things
he eats: fish, voles and frogs   there wingspan is 175-195cm
and there are over 13,000 heron nests in the UK
