leeds once more

On the tenth me and nanny went to Leeds to go to a museum. It only cost us 30p which was brilliant.

    As we came out of the station we saw someone giving away  Tropicana       who was really nice.

When we got to the museum we went up to the first floor. The first floor didn't have much on but there was a special clock called the Leeds clock.

 On the second floor there was loads of things to do with the wars, there was a old desk <¬ and a thing that showed were the main bombing points were.

The third floor was much more fun as it has a mummy ¬> and  loads of Egyptian hieroglyphics and stuff 

there was a head statue of Hera Greek goddess and queen of heaven also married to Zeus god of the sky.

Then we went down to the ground  floor  and saw a huge cabinet that used to have several odd things in, including a hand, a coin, cows leather with the fur still on it. there were more things but I'll not list them.

Then we went down to the basement  and went in to a room with stuffed animals like, leopards, bears and monkeys and things but the tigers were most impressive this one here was a rug once then they moulded it back into shape an stuffed it. 🐅

yesterday we went to Shakespeares rose theatre, which much to our surprise, opened again. you can see my older post by clicking here .

ok so hamlet is the play we saw. we also went to Cliffords tower were me and abbie fought to the death (well almost).

Four Leaf Clovers 🍀

Last week I found a four leaf clover but I have just found another one today while walking the dogs. I think that they are super lucky. You have a one in 10,000 chance of finding a four leaf clover so to find two in two weeks is very rare. Here's some info about four leaf clovers:

Each leaf on a four leaf clover represents something: The first represents faith, the second hope, the third love and the fourth luck. Someone once found 21 clovers in her back garden after she prayed to on of her old friends (who had found a four leaf clover) to send her a sign. 

People used to hang four leaf clovers from their doors to ward off evil, some children believed that if they carried a four leaf clover they could see faeries!!!  If you ever find a five leaf clover drop it and run as they're very unlucky and will bring illness if picked

Edinburgh🏢

On Tuesday we went to Edinburgh with the usual people. This time we went by train and it was a three hour train ride. After three  long hours we finally got to Edinburgh. From the station we went to Edinburgh castle the views were fab. The castle was ok but we couldn't see the crown jewels because the queue was so long, there are also some things to do with the war and a prison camp.

 

Edinburgh Castle is a historic land mark I'm not sure when it was built but there has been a royal castle on the site since at least the 12th century.

After that we went to the Museum of Edinburgh and on the way there we saw a street performer  called the mighty Gareth and we saw him swallow  a sword well I didn't because I'm screemish. There wasn't much to see in the museum of Edinburgh but in the National Museum of Scotland there were lots to see we saw lots of   dead animals (which spoiled it a bit for me poor rhino) films and games and there were so many floors   five but that's still that's a lot of floors

The Rose Theatre

The Rose was built in 1587 by Philip Henslowe and a grocer named John Cholmley. It was the first purpose-built playhouse to ever stage a production of any of Shakespeare's plays. The theatre was built on a messuage called the "Little Rose," which Henslowe had leased from the parish of St. Saviour, Southwark in 1585.

The Rose was the first of several theatres to be situated in Bankside, Southwark near the south shore of the River Thames. The area was known for its leisure attractions such as bear/bull-baitings, gaming dens and brothels. It was located in the Liberty of Clink, a liberty outside the jurisdiction of the City of London's civic authorities.

The Rose contained substantial rose gardens and two buildings; Cholmley used one as a storehouse but I don't know what Henslowe used his for. North of London, professional playhouses like the Curtain Theatre and The Theatre had already been open for over a decade.

In York they have built a replica of the rose theatre and that is were me, Abbie and nanny went yesterday. The play we saw  is called a midsummer nights dream and it is very good in my opinion  it made me laugh and the fairy's were dressed up as trees. They were doing things like one fairy took someones bag and dumped it in front of the person it belonged to.  I don't think abbie liked it though because she was hardly looking at it.The theatre is like a pop up one  but more impressive  especially on the inside  but sadly after the second of september it will be taken down as it was only open for ten weeks. 

A Special Trip To York

Yesterday we went to York. When we got there we went to York castle museum which we went in because it's the  hundredth anniversary this year and they have something on which is good for me because I'm doing a WW1 project  (you can go to my previous post which is called York museums by clicking here).

After we went up to Clifford's tower. It wasn't as good as I hoped it would be but we saw York Minster and Shakespeare's rose theatre. Next we went to a place with Ice cream that we knew we liked  we were going to go to pound stretcher but a street performer  was doing some funny things  in the end we needed to run to the rose theatre so we wouldn't miss the start of mid summer nights dream.

Oh almost forgot on the way to York castle museum we past the jorvik centre and opposite  it there were two people who were from the jorvik centre and they were doing charm bags  me and abbie did one to and I picked lapis and blood stone for my two stones and yarrow and rosemary for my two herbs. 

New Ussuri Brown Bears At Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Four Ussuri bears were rescued from Japan.Two of the four were cubs when they were snatched from their mum who was shot by hunters. These are brothers are called Riku and Kai  they are now 17.The other two are called Amuro and Hanako and they are 27. The trip from Japan to the UK  lasted two days and they travelled 5,400 miles. In there old home they were living exhibits and the cages were 6 foot long and 9 foot wide and there were only three inches of water in there cages.

I am glad that they have been rescued by Yorkshire wildlife park because it is only about eleven miles away so we can get their easily and we have annual passes we can see them till the passes run out  and when they are open for public I will update and put pictures and videos on.

Puppy party

Last night our fourteen week old puppy called Finn went to a puppy party at the vets, when we got there a puppy was waiting outside with its owner. The puppy was a Jack Russell called Charlie, a Jack Russell that was yapping it's head of for half an hour or more and all the noise upset Finn. About ten minutes after we got there another puppy came with her owners that puppy was a Golden Retriever called Lily, she was nice and quiet. 

When we went in (with Charlie still yapping) to the vets there were a pile of toys on the floor, this was to show what toys puppy's should play with. There was a nurse and a vet there the nurse past round a sheet with pictures of the way a puppy could do to interact with you.  The puppy's played with each other for a bit and after that we played pass the puppy. This was to get the puppy's used 

to other people. next it was time to look around the vets.

First we went to the kennels and saw Alfie who is one of the vets dog, from the kennels we went to the x-ray room Finn didn't like it much, then we went to the operating theatre there was a small toy dog on one of the tables and I learnt wear they check the  pulse of a dog, then we went to room 1 and there were worms and ticks in tubes on the table I guest that the ticks were female and the vet was surprised that I was right (I have read about ticks though). Finn hated it in there too. When we went back into the main room there were six goodie bags two for each dog oh good news too Freya's five and Finn was on the lead for the first time 

Clumber Park

On Monday we went to Clumber Park with my sister my friend and my friends mum and brother. At Clumber Park we had a picnic and there were greylag geese and they wanted our food. There was also a young squirrel who took some of my sandwich I gave my friends brother some of my sandwich to give to the squirrel after that we went to a woodland play area and me and my friends brother blew
bubbles and saw who could blow the biggest bubble.We went on a boat that had information on like when the river is low you can see the remains of a old boat that sank.

 We went on a brige that has been wrecked because some one drove back and forth and wrecked the brige there were lodes of notes saying things like we hope it is rebuilt soon and that kind of thing.

Chester Zoo

We went to Chester zoo with by best friend on Monday. We saw loads of animals including a cheater (cheater's are my favourite animals) and elephants with there big trunks and small ones to. There were also bats. I did not want to go in the bat cave because it was dark and I don't like  things that move in the dark.

We saw monkeys and there was one bit in the monkey house that had two big snakes that are huge but the orangutans are so much like a human but an orangutan is not a chatter box like some humans and humans don't swing from rope to rope. We also saw a big house full of fat buffaloes.

There were some monkeys that have hit the glass that lets you look at the monkeys. Ok the adult monkeys aren't cute but the baby's are. Hear are some pictures.

York museums

On Friday me my nanny and my sister went to York on a train. Once there we went to three different museums they are Yorkshire museum York castle museum  and National Railway Museum.

We first went to the Yorkshire museum. A kind lady gave us some nuts to feed the squirrels and said that they would take the nuts out of our hands, most of them went to some pigeons one of the pigeons had a broken foot and it got most of my nuts.

 In the Yorkshire museum there was a viking exhibit a roman exhibit a extinct exhibit and a Ice age exhibit.In the viking exhibit there was a thing that tells you how viking you are and I am 79 percent viking my sister is 74 percent and my Nan is 66 percent. There was a animal exhibit and there was a red squirrel and a gray squirrel and the size of the red squirrel comped to the gray squirrel the red squirrel is so small and cute there was a big whale skull and a saber tooth tiger. 

At the York castle museum there was a Victorian street with shops that you could go in and out of there was also this sweet shop that you could go in  and by sweets and other stuff and a sweet place where it showed how to make things like cake and Turkish delight and stuff like that. here was also a shape game that times you to sort out 4 shapes and my one was 64.5 seconds but my sister did it in 21.02 seconds  and my Nan didn't do it so she did not get a time  but over all I won . I am the size of a chimney sweep from Victorian times and a toy place with a dream thing.

The last one we went to was the National Railway Museum we have been there before so it was not as exiting but it was still fun

The Deep 🐬

On Tuesday we went to The Deep in hull  for a home education day out .weed went because there was a home ed day being held and my lesson was at 11:20 am and we had a misery to solve there was some baby parrot fish that was killed over night and we had to find out who ate the baby parrot fish and it turned out it was a white tip reef shark that ate the baby parrot fish, there was a lot to do there so I did not get bored I even looked at some shrimp and plankton   also I got a tiny glimpse of a green saw fish there are only six to eight  different species left. Their saw like nose is for killing fish and fighting sharks they do not hurt  humans though 😊

There are some very very lovely fish there is clown fish and blue tangs and a load more. there biggest shark died which is a shame coz we could have got a picture of her I think she was a nurse shark but I do not know. we took a while to get to the tunnel and the glass lift PS my Nan is claustrophobic but it was not stuffy so she did not care that much there was a nice view of one of many fish tanks and a gigantic fish  over the size of me!!!!!!!!!  we got some good footage and photos so here they are 

Bug Handling

On Monday we went to Animal Ark to learn about and handle bugs I did not handle that much I held a Millipede  that was all.  Abbiegail  held a Millipede, a snail, a cricket,
a stick insect  and a  tarantula

At Animal Ark we saw some snakes and some snake skin  here is some info about snakes .Snakes are long legless lizards  that eat other animals such as rodents, birds, eggs, fish, frogs, lizards and small mammals .
There are lodes of types of snakes including  the black mamba  the green mamba the boa family
the back mambas are venomous snakes were as a boa would strangl you and eat you hole 😊

The Secret Life Of Pets

Today we watched the secret life of pets it was the best film yet  my  favourite  part was when the white dog was ansoring the TV and went out and left the TV on  well I think so .


A Jack Russell Terrier named Max lives with his owner Katie in a Manhattan apartment. While she is at work during the day, he hangs out with other pets in the building: tabby cat Chloe, pug Mel, dachshund Buddy, and budgerigar Sweetpea. One day,
 Katie adopts Duke, a large mongrel from the pound, leaving Max jealous because of her divided focus on Duke. Enraged by M
ax's attitude towards him, Duke tries to abandon Max in an alley, but they are both attacked by cats led by Sphynx cat Ozone. They remove both dogs' collars and leave them to be caught by Animal Control. Duke fears that he will be put down if he goes back to the pound.

 They are rescued by a white rabbit named Snowball, the leader of "The Flushed Pets" – a gang of sewer-dwelling animals who hate humans because their owners mistreated them. After Max and Duke pretend to despise humans as much as they do by saying they killed their owners, the Flushed Pets invite them to join. Before they can prove their loyalty by allowing a viper to bite them, Snowball learns from the cats that Max and Duke are domesticated. The two dogs escape the sewers and board a ferry to Brooklyn inadvertently killing the viper in the process; Snowball vows to kill them and leads the Flushed Pets after them.

 Gidget, a white Pomeranian with a desperate crush on Max, discovers he is missing and recruits a red-tailed hawk named Tiberius to find him. After looking over the city for Max, Tiberius returns carrying Ozone, whom Gidget coerces into telling what he knows about the dogs.

 Gidget and Tiberius then enlist Mel, Buddy, Chloe, guinea pig Norman, Sweetpea, and Pops, an old basset hound to begin searching Manhattan. The group encounters Snowball, who vows to kill them as well, and Norman is captured as the rest of Gidget's team flees.

In Brooklyn, Max and Duke raid a sausage factory for food. Duke tells Max about his previous owner, Fred, an elderly man who adopted him as a puppy and loved spending time with him. One day, Duke got lost while chasing a butterfly and was caught by Animal Control, but Fred never came to claim him.

 Max convinces him to visit Fred's house in a nearby neighborhood, confident Fred will still love him and take him back. When they arrive, though, they learn from a resident cat that Fred died. Heartbroken, Duke accuses Max of attempting to get rid of him and barks at the new homeowners who had just returned to the house, who call Animal Control. The handlers catch Max, but Duke interferes long enough for Max to escape and ends up being captured instead. While trying to rescue Duke as he follows the Animal Control van, Max is attacked by Snowball who tries to kill him. However, when his gang is captured, Snowball realizes that he and Max must work together to rescue them.

 They drive a city bus into the van on the Brooklyn Bridge, stopping traffic. The Flushed Pets encircle Max, unaware of his partnership with Snowball, but Gidget and her team save him. When Gidget is using her kung-fu fighting skills, Max starts to fall in love with her. The van rolls away; the Flushed Pets escape, but the van falls into the East River with Duke inside. Max is unable to get the keys to Duke's cage, so Snowball jumps into the river to retrieve them, allowing Max and Duke to escape the sinking van. Once out of the river, Snowball realizes how good being heroic feels. The entire group returns to the apartment block by pig-driven taxi.

 Max expresses his love for Gidget, who returns his affection. Snowball and the Flushed Pets then come up with a new plan to annihilate all humans, but Snowball is suddenly adopted by a little girl named Molly. At first, Snowball resists, but gives in and lets himself become a domesticated pet. The remaining Flushed Pets return to the sewers, the domesticated pets return to their homes and embrace their owners, and Max and Duke finally reunite with Katie, sparking a true friendship.

So Much To Tell You

I have done so much over the last couple of weeks like going to watch beauty and the beast🌹with Nikki my best freind. I went to Sheffield Hallam university 🏢 for four days and one of my sisters rats champagne died  😭

we went to see ruining wild in a Sheffield theatre it was great because there was a

Sherwood Country Park lies just north of Edwinstowe, two miles from Ollerton and 17 miles north of Nottingham                                                                                                                               

Evidence of flint tools shows some use of the Sherwood area by prehistoric hunter-gatherers. During the late Iron Age and Roman periods, human habitation and farming was more common. By the 9th century, farming communities were making a greater impact on the Sherwood landscape. Most of these communities still exist today. Names ending in ‘by’ like Thoresby, are Scandinavian in origin, ‘thorpe’ as in Gleadthorpe are Danish, and ‘feld’ (field) as in Mansfield, are Roman.


The name ‘Sherwood’ was first recorded in 958AD when it was called Sciryuda, meaning ‘the woodland belonging to the shire’. It became a Royal hunting forest after the Norman invasion of 1066, and was popular with many Norman kings, particularly King John and Edward I.

 The ruins of King John’s hunting lodge can still be seen near the Nottinghamshire village of Kings Clipstone. ‘Forest’ was a legal term, and meant an area subject to special Royal laws designed to protect the valuable resources of timber and game (Vert and Venison) within its boundaries. These laws were strictly and severely imposed by agisters, foresters, verderers (wardens) and rangers, who were all were employed by the Crown. In the 1200s, popularly thought to be the time of Robin Hood, Sherwood covered about 100,000 acres, which was a fifth of the entire county of Nottinghamshire. The main London to York road, the Great North Way, ran straight through Sherwood, and travellers were often at the mercy of robbers living outside of the law. Hence the name ‘outlaw’.

A Busy Week

Last week was a busy week because we went to a lot of places .And it was lodes of fun because  we went to Sherwood forest with are dogs Freya and Freda 🐕🐕  . They are so cute eney way  we went to way side water gardens and sore some fish and ther was albino frogs they were tiny on Wednesday we  went to parkour  and I can now hold my self up on a big bare it was so much fun all so my friend kara was ther we had lots of fun hear is some photos

#Walk1000miles Challenge

This year we taking part in the #walk 1000 mile challenge which  this means we are walking 1000 miles in one year so we are now one week into the #walk 1000 mile challenge. My total is 26.98 miles and I didn't think that I cud do it . ☺ hear is some of my favourite photos

Finding Dory

yesterday we went to see finding Dory. Dory  was on a quest  to find her parents Jenny and Charley. She made new friends and met an old freind : baily, destiny, hank, other tangs (dory's type)
also dory suffers from short term memory loss
 
hank helped dory escape quarantine  in exchange for her tag  but then she meat her freind  destiny .           Destiny is a wale shark   .  destiny,s naybor is  baily.  baily  is a bluegill wale.  destiny told Dory to go threw  the pipes and baily guided Dory oh did I mention  Marlin and Nemo was trying to save Dory but in the end Dory saved Marlin and Nemo anyway she found her parents . Hank was on a van to another aquarium but dory persuaded Hank to come back to the sea. hank is a septipus a  seven legged  octopus  .  octopus,s have three harts  
                                                         

My First Stem Session

a compel of days ago  I went to a stem session and made goo and learnt about polymers  I made a new friend called Kara  we lit a 20  pond note on fire it burst in to  flames and there were no ashes then we made goo my one is green with red glitter

HOW TO MAKE SLIME (GOO).

1. put 6 spoons of glue in

 3. mix for 10 minis and add some borax in be tween 

me and Kara built a Tran station it was so big I built the Tran and put a person in it Kara built the  station .  I like my new friend .we put a tablet into water and the water trend ed and and we put salt in water and it just  sank to  the bottom then we put  a orby in a glass cup and it got bigger

Polymers are very large molecules made when many smaller molecules join together, end to end          the smaller molecules are called monomers in general ; lots of  monomers  molecules a polymers molecule. the  polymers formed are called addition  polymers.

Butterfly's And More At Wheelgates

yesterday we went to Wheelgates it was fun fest we went into the tropical zone we sore a butterfly cumming out of it,s chrysalis here is some information about butterflies.

Butterfly's are beautiful, flying insects with large scaly wings. Like all insects, they have six jointed legs, 3 body parts, a pair of antennae, compound eyes, and an exoskeleton. The three body parts are the head, thorax (the chest), and abdomen (the tail end). The butterfly's body is covered by tiny sensory hairs.

Butterfly's live in different , including mangroves, salt marshes, lowland forests, sand dunes, wetlands, mountainous regions and grasslands. Rocky areas and bare ground give larvae a place to find adequate food and adults to lounge in the sun. Butterfly's come in a variety of sizes. The world's smallest known species, the blue pygmy found in southern California, has a wingspan of just over half an inch. The largest species, New Guinea's Queen Alexandra's bird wing, can measure up to twelve inches from wingtip to wingtip. The fore wings and the six legs of the butterfly are attached to the thorax.

The thorax contains the muscles that make the legs and wings move. Butterflies are very good fliers. They have two pairs of large wings covered with colorful, iridescent scales in overlapping rows. Butterflies are found all over the world and in all types of environments: hot and cold, dry and moist, at sea level and high in the mountains. Most butterfly species, however, are found in areas tropical, especially tropical rain forests.
